Homework

Thank you for helping your student read every night, or almost every night :-), and getting the reading log back to me on Mondays. This week we are adding one more part to our homework.

As you know our job is to get your 2nd grader ready for the next grade level. Come middle of the year your student will need to take all assessments on their own without a teacher reading the test for them. In an effort to get them to become more independent I will be sending home one math word problem a week. This word problem will be attached to their Reading Log.  The word problem will have four boxes for them to work different strategies. Please have your student work on a box a night. A sample of how it should look when it's complete will be on the back side of the sheet. This is to help your student self check their work when done or guide your student if they need help. After a few weeks the sample will no longer be there and your student will be responsible for completing this on their own. Please return this along with the reading log every Monday.
